RWE Transgas Net is now transiting gas through the Czech Republic

The company has taken over the ownership and operation of 3 640 km of the gas transmission system from RWE Transgas

All gas traders have the same conditions ensured for their trading

As of the New Year, the company RWE Transgas Net, s.r.o. started its activities. Its mission is the reliable exercise of the duties of a licence holder for the operation of a transmission system pursuant to the Energy Act. RWE Transgas Net now independently ensures activities which have the character of a natural monopoly. These have been allocated for the company from RWE Transgas, a.s.

The separation of the company RWE Transgas has changed the model of functioning of the Czech natural gas market. The transmission of natural gas which RWE Transgas buys from producers is now ensured by RWE Transgas Net. In the individual regions the gas is sold on by regional distribution companies. They have a possibility to conclude contracts for its purchase with regular traders who have gained a licence for their activities from the Energy Regulation Office. RWE Transgas is one of them.

Our priority is the provision of high-quality services and a continual increase in the safety of operation”, said Jan Nehoda, executive of RWE Transgas Net, s.r.o., on the occasion of the start of operation.

As of 1st January 2006, RWE Transgas Net ensures the transit of natural gas across the Czech Republic and transmission for all gas traders in our country. The company has taken over the ownership and operation of all 3 640 km of the gas transmission system from RWE Transgas. RWE Transgas Net also operates and maintains six underground storage facilities in the localities Dolní Dunajovice, Tvrdonice, Štramberk, Lobodice, Třanovice and Háje with total storage capacity of 2055 million m3.
